7-1 Library

Ther are four libraries in this city. Anyons can borrow books from these libraries and enjoy consultation of libraries.

  All people living, working and studying in this city can register in the libraries and borrow books. Please show your credentials which can confirm your address. You can borrow ten books at most once and keep it for 15 days.

L-pia　Kurume is a comprehensive building for life study center, male&female equality promotion center, human right promotion center nad consumption life center etc. It provides an area of 10,000 square meters for study and activities.

7-3 Ishibashi Cultural Center tel: 33-2271

Ishibashi Cultural Center has stone bridge gallery, culture hall, city people library, Japanese garden etc. Visitors can enjoy colorful cultural activities and Japanese lifestyle.

• Opening hours: 9:00～17:00(until 19:00 in July and August)
• Closing hours: Monday(except for celebration day and holiday)and beginning and end of each year.

7-4 Ishibashi Museum of Art tel: 39-1131

Ishibashi Museum of Art is a well-known gallery with about 120 works of famous modern Japanese painters such as Shigeru　Aoki、Hanzirou　Sakamoto、Harue　Koga　etc.
The gallery also exbits national treasures of Japan and China, paintings and chinas etc.

• April-September: 9:30～17:30(admission until17:00)
• October-March: 9:30～17:00admission until 16:30)
• Closing date: Monday( Postpone to next day encountes holiday) beginning and end of each year, one week before and after special exhibition.

Admission fee ( standing exhibition)

• University and high school old people: 300yuan(200yuan)
• Below high school: Free of charge

7-5 Shigeru　Aoki old house　TEL(39)3575

Here is the restoration of the house of talented painter Shigeru　Aoki who was born here.
Relevant photos and data are exhbited here and visitors can read freely the books.

7-6 Fukuoka Science Museum tel: 37-5566

Themed with “ The Earth”, the museum has scientific experiment corner, flying imitation facilities, its self study system is highly regarded. It has the largest satellite injection equipment whose diameter is 23 meters. It is very impressive.

This museum exhibits weapons and art crafts of lords.

Here exhibits historical relics. The buildings were built in July of the forty third year of明治 age.

7-9　 Chikugo　river　museum「Kurumeusu」TEL(45)5042

Here exhibits river fishes swimming in pools. Living condition introduction is shown on screens and boards which can enrich people’s knowledge.

There are many kinds of birds such as Indian peacocks, cranes, flamingo, Sounth African pangeuins etc. Tour carts are available.
